Tonight was finally the night. Earlier this year, a friend of mine deployed to Afghanistan and entrusted me with the care and upkeep of his car. During the summer, while making my way home from giving the car some early morning exercise, I opened it up and BOOM!!!!! The clutch exploded. Granted, it was a clutch that wasn’t rated for the power the engine (with the giant turbo) is making. I felt terrible. I immediately told my friend what had happened and told him I’ll take care of fixing it while also upgrading the entire drive train, as it also wasn’t rated to handle the power. Months had passed and obstacles appeared but just days before he finally returns, the swap has been completed. Tonight, his car makes it’s maiden voyage to break in the clutch; just in time for him to be able to rip in it when he gets home.
